Pregel America Reinforces Its Commitment To Safe Quality Food

CONCORD, N.C. – PreGel AMERICA, a global specialty dessert ingredient company, has achieved SQF 2000 − Level 2 Certification at its Concord, North Carolina, facility. The audit was conducted by third party vendor Steritech Group, Inc., the leading provider of specialized brand protection services in North America. The certification is awarded to companies that comply with U.S. and international food safety standards.

The SQF Program is administered by the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) and is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). The primary goal of the program is to protect the consumer marketplace from unsafe food by holding companies to best practices and top standards in the industry which are defined by HACCP (Hazard Analysis, Critical Control Points) principles and guidelines.

With the SQF Certification in hand, the company already has plans to continue to strengthen its commitment of supplying superior ingredient solutions. PreGel AMERICA revaeled expansion plans on November 16, 2011, to increase its manufacturing, warehousing and research and development facilities over the next three years to better respond to the unique needs of its customers.
