Pittman & Davis, based in Harlingen, Texas, announced today the completion of the acquisition of Eilenberger Bakery in Palestine, Texas. The purchase of the 112-year-old landmark was completed in the first quarter of 2010, with terms of the transaction not disclosed.
"Along with our premier citrus varieties, fruitcake and bakery goods have long been a staple in P&D's product line," said Andy Graham, Vice President & General Manager of Pittman Davis. "We are very excited and happy to bring the tradition and quality of Eilenberger Bakery into our family."
Eilenberger Bakery is most famous for its Texas Pecan Cake and various fruitcake. In one year, bakers use over 50,000 pounds of Texas-grown pecans and 10,000 eggs. However, the company's strict quality standards and dedication to excellence extend to other delicacies such as rich brownies (sugar-free options are offered), savory nuts and homemade candies that are exclusive to the Bakery. Recipes handed down over generations dominate the selections, and only the highest quality ingredients are used in every item offered.

To support the acquisition, a new state-of-the-art EilenbergerBakery.com website has been created that sells award-winning fruit cake and Texas pecan cake. The company's catalog list has expanded to over 25,000 customers.
