ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Pan-O-Gold Baking Company gave more than 1.5 million loaves of bread to food banks in the Midwest in 2013, with 775,000 going to Second Harvest Heartland alone.
Pan-O-Gold helps families going through tough economic times by donating a large number of fresh, unsold loaves to food shelves throughout their distribution area.
"We knew there was a growing need in our communities, and it was something we took very seriously," says Jimmy Hanson, Vice President of Sales, Minneapolis area. "Our company has been blessed, and giving back to the community was something we wanted to do. If we can't help each other, who else can we help?"
Pan-O-Gold Baking Company's fight against hunger is part of a larger initiative to remain a socially responsible organization.
