Charles Feder and his partner Janice Ahlgren have sold the wildly popular Rossmoor Pastries after 28 years of running the business, the last 15 of which have been in Signal Hill.
The co-owners next month will hand the keys to a man from Vancouver, British Columbia, who plans to move his family to Southern California and retain the 105 employees who sell about 70 wedding cakes a week, in addition to myriad pastries for wholesale and retail.
“You know what’s the best part?” Feder said, reflecting on his near 30-year run as owner. “When a little kid comes in with their parents to pick up their cake and their eyes light up.”
