SAN FRANCISCO – Edison Grainery is bringing Organic Sorghum, America’s Ancient Grain, back to your pantry! High in protein, iron and dietary fiber, Sorghum’s mild flavor packs a powerful and nutritious punch. Items include 100% Organic Sorghum Pastas, Organic Whole Grain Sorghum Berries, Organic Whole Grain Sorghum Flour and Organic Crisps Sorghum Cereals: Morning Milo and Morning Milo Trio.
Globally, Sorghum is one of the five top cereal crops in the world grown primarily for human consumption. Sorghum comes in a variety of colors, shapes and sizes. Food products include thick porridges, popped sorghum snacks, fermented and unfermented baked goods, beverages and as an extruded commercial product.
Sorghum thrives in desert areas and is naturally drought, heat and insect resistant. Repurposing land once used to grow California organic rice, Edison Grainery is helping to serve up this energy efficient and versatile grain.

About Edison Grainery
Edison Grainery is a family owned business dedicated to bringing affordable premium organic foods to consumers. In 2009, co-owner, Amy Barnes, was diagnosed with multiple cancers and Celiac Disease. During her recovery, which included dietary changes, she discovered the many benefits of a Gluten-Free diet for herself and her family. Disappointed by both the selection and pricing of organic and gluten-free foods found in grocery stores, the Barnes family decided that these foods should not be hard to attain nor be beyond the budget of the average American household; thus Edison Grainery was born.
Edison Grainery has grown to offer over 200 pantry staple items for Retail & Food Service market. Their 30,000 sq ft. warehouse features three dedicated processing lines to deliver products free of known allergens, including “the Big 8”.
