National Pie Day January 23rd

Which pie should you choose for your National Pie Day party? The pie-sibilities are endless! Will it be one of the 231 varieties of apple pie, the favorite of 36 million Americans? Perhaps pumpkin pie, which was first introduced to the holiday table at the pilgrim's second Thanksgiving in 1623? Or maybe a pecan pie, which is the third most popular choice in our nation of pie lovers? We are encouraging pie lovers everywhere to teach someone to make a pie during the month of January in honor of National Pie Day.

This year we have a partnership with Paramount Pictures and its new film, “Labor Day”. “Labor Day,” starring Kate Winslet in a Golden Globe-nominated performance, Josh Brolin and Gattlin Griffith and directed by Jason Reitman, features a pie making scene that becomes an important theme in the story and shares the APC’s message of passing down skills from generation to generation. The movie will be released nationally on January 31, 2014, a week after National Pie Day, offering a unique way for pie lovers to celebrate their favorite holiday.

So, on National Pie Day, make a date for January 31st to see Paramount Picture’s new film, “Labor Day” and teach someone to bake a pie!
