Take one step into Mazurek's Bakery and you experience an incredible smell of sweet, home made baked goods. If you happen to visit on a day when rye bread is in the oven, the aroma of caraway seeds fills the air.
Mazurek's is know for its donuts, paczki, pastries, pies, cookies and more. Many customers are tempted to buy one of everything. That's just what Tyrel Reynolds did, literally. "I walked in, fell in love with the business and I've been here a year and a half now."
Reynolds was working in insurance, looking to buy the building on South Park Avenue in Buffalo's Old First Ward as an investment. He ended up buying the bakery, along with Mazurek's traditional recipes. "Our donuts are unique to most locations because we actually cut the donuts in half and fill them that way vs. injecting the donuts."
