CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Kathy's Pies co-owner, Kathy McCauley says selling the bakery she started with her father more than three decades ago is bittersweet but it is a moment she is ready for.
"This was actually my father's idea," said McCauley. "He came to me in 1986 and asked if I wanted to join in an adventure with him."
The downtown business is a landmark in Eastern Iowa known for their cookies, cakes, and of course pies. McCauley currently owns the business with Terri Henecke. It is their hope the buyers of the company will be family oriented and work to expand what they have created.
