Karma Baker Teams Up With Local Mermaid To Kick Off 'National Mermaid Day' With Themed Donut

LOS ANGELES, CA – In recognition of today’s National Mermaid Day, Southern California’s favorite (and Kardashians too) all vegan/gluten-free bakery has teamed up with local mermaid Linden Wolbert to launch “mermaid” donuts.

“We are thrilled to have professional Mermaid Linden as the face of our donut campaign,” explains Celine Ikeler, co-owner of Karma Baker. “She’s everything we envisioned in a mermaid, and she’s real!”

A pioneer of the Mermaid industry (not to mention the world’s highest paid mermaid), Mermaid Linden has been swimming around the globe for over a decade. She’s been featured in Buzzfeed, NPR, Fortune Magazine, Cosmopolitan, People, Discovery Channel SHARK WEEK, ABC's 20/20, The Today Show, and additional media outlets in over 30 countries.

While she’s a favorite amongst Hollywood A-listers, Mermaid Linden’s mission is to help and encourage others (specifically children) to experience and explore the oceans for themselves and become ambassadors for conserving all things aquatic. She enjoys bringing magic to kids and their families and is a supporter of organizations like Make-A-Wish.

"When I first saw the Karma Baker Mermaid Donut, it was so beautiful I didn't want to eat it; but when I took a bite of that delicious work of art I was hooked!” explains Linden. “I give this health-conscious sweet confection a hearty two fins up!"

Karma Baker’s “mermaid donuts” are made using Celine’s Organic & Gluten-Free Baking Flour (kosher, nut-free) and vegan sprinkles (V, GF, kosher, nut-free) in two flavors: buttermilk with white chocolate and chocolate with dark chocolate. They are available only through “special orders” at Karma Baker’s Westlake Village location and cost $6.00 per donut or $66 for a dozen.

Karma Baker transforms plant-based ingredients into extraordinary baked goods that everyone can enjoy. Ikeler (aka the Karma Baker), has been dedicated to vegan and gluten-free baking since 2005 after perfecting a brownie recipe for her neighbor’s daughter who had a variety of food allergies. Feeling it was unfair the little girl could not enjoy a delectable dessert, Ikeler created a yummy, garbanzo-bean brownie from scratch, and it became a huge hit.

Additional desserts made by Karma Baker include Unicorn donuts, cake pops, brownies, Karma Cakes, Karma sandwich cookies, pies, cheesecake, muffins, tarts, cookies, cupcakes, ciabatta rolls, sandwich loaves, etc.

“It is my passion to create yummy goodness for everyone to enjoy, especially those with dietary restrictions,” adds Ikeler.

Karma Baker is located at 1145 Lindero Canyon Rd #D3, Westlake Village CA 91362 and ships nationwide on select items. Wholesale is also available, please visit http://www.karmabaker.com
