Grand Central Bakery on Friday said it temporarily closed five cafés and cut 150 jobs, a decision the company attributed to financial losses brought on by the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Grand Central previously operated 12 cafes and, as of the start of this year, employed 460 workers.
The closed locations are: North Fremont in the Mississippi district, Sellwood and Woodstock in Portland; and Wallingford and Pioneer Square in Seattle.
