Europastry, the leading baking firm in the frozen dough sector, has collaborated with Eatable Adventures to launch the Baking the Future Challenge, a competition aimed at finding the most forward-thinking start-ups that are able to come up with agile and disruptive responses to the company’s most ambitious goals.
AREAS OF INTEREST
Europastry is looking to solve three business challenges within the entrepreneurial ecosystem: technology focused on making baked goods more widely available, the application of technology in improving the consumption experience,and lastly, developing new products with ingredients and formats that meet the needs of new consumer profiles.
This initiative is aimed at start-ups the world over, and its goal is to identify the most innovative and disruptive solutions that can improve the processes and operations in a way that has a real impact on the company’s business activity. As Daniel Calvo, Commercial General Director of Europastry, points out, “The Baking the Future Challengeallows us to connect with new and future technologies, and address our company’s main challenges.”
The competition will take place in Barcelona during the second half of September, where start-ups will present their solution to the Europastry judging panel.
The winning start-up will have the opportunity to access the company’s R&D department, gain preferential trading and distribution agreements andhave the possibility of seeing their product added to the Europastry portfolio, as well as potentially being awarded as much as 100,000 euros of investment funding.
