WASHINGTON, D.C. – In another sign that the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) is broken beyond repair, the Environmental Protection Association (EPA) announced that it would not be promulgating its 2014 ethanol volumes. EPA is mandated by law to set annual biofuels targets as part of the RFS. “It is ironic on the eve of Thanksgiving that the EPA missed the chance to take a modest step toward reducing food costs for America’s families,” American Bakers Association President and CEO Robb MacKie said. “This is another clear example that the RFS is broken and needs to be addressed by the new Congress.”
