Me, my stomach, and bread haven’t always had the most fluid relationship with one another. It’s not that I don’t like bread or don’t enjoy eating it. It’s the digestive part that can be hit or miss. So, more often then not, I would simply forgo bread. But after discovering Dave’s Killer Bread a year ago while staying in Colorado for a few months I realized that I don’t have to abstain anymore. I am now a loyal convert with a reinvigorated taste for gourmet sandwiches—especially the countless variations on the egg sandwich.
When we moved back east, it occurred to me that Dave’s Killer Bread (DKB)might just be a west coast thing. But as luck would have it, the two local stores I visit daily now had just started carrying it with one store retailing it for a much better price. Bread crisis averted.
But I quickly realized that neither store could keep the product in stock. There were even a few weeks where both stores just had empty shelves where Dave’s Killer Bread used to be. My first thought was that clearly there is no secret that Dave makes “killer bread”. My second thought was I better start buying multiple loaves at a time to freeze to make sure that I don’t run out. My third thought was that in a day and age where it seems like so many people are giving up on eating bread how the heck is Dave’s Killer Bread literally killing it with his ever growing fan base?
