A duo working for Dave's Killer Bread were more than ready for their closeups last week.
Dave’s Killer Bread plant manager Ronnie Elrod joined President John Tucker in a " The Daily Show" segment on, essentially, the "Ban the Box" movement. The effort looks to prevent employers from using job application forms that contain boxes asking prospective workers if they've been convicted of felonies.
Dave's, with a cofounder (Dave Dahl) who formed the company after a prison stint, espouses the Second Chance Employment movement. One in every three of Dave's 300 workers has a criminal background.
