A reader called last week to say he could not find Billy Bread, the bread made famous by local baker Billy Fallen, anywhere.
Greta Phillips and Alex Miller bought the Billy Bread business from Fallen, and they make the bread at Lecker Baking Co. at 1 S. Allen Ave. in Richmond.
Phillips said the bread is available on the days they bake (Tuesday through Saturday) at various local food stores: 8 1/2, Libbie Market, Ellwood Thompson’s Local Market, Union Market, Kroger Carytown, Kroger Short Pump, Kroger Atlee, Whole Foods Market in Short Pump, Tuckahoe Seafood and Shields Market.
