Las Vegas, NV – Banner-Day, a leader in oven automation, performance optimization and electric pipe heating presented its SmartBake® Control Family and TraceFREE® branded systems for the baking and food industry at the International Baking Industry Exposition October 6 – 9, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The SmartBake® System by Banner-Day extends and enhances the control of Direct Spark Ignition (DSI) with direct fired bakery ovens. SmartBake® is a modular system that enables precision control of a given oven zone to +/- 2º F. The value of this integrated system is that bakers can now more efficiently manage temperature and lateral heat conditions in their ovens providing an important advancement as it now enables bakeries to cost effectively add to or enhance existing DSI systems.
The heart of the system is the new SmartBake® ISPU-3 solid-state module that provides the high voltage spark to ignite and monitor a direct-fired oven burner. This new module will be shown in a “live” demonstration along with its uniquely designed and integrated SmartBake® rectification ignitor.
The Stainless Steel SmartBake® Rectification Ignitor is specifically designed to provide highly reliable burner ignition when used with a DSI system. It is designed to spark to itself, direct the fuel to the ignition point and provide minimum capacitive load on the ignition system. Easy to install and maintain and its adjustment is less critical under adverse operating conditions.
Banner-Day TraceFREE® Electric Pipe Heating Systems are effectively used in the bakery and food industries to heat a variety of ingredients, particularly those that are heat sensitive or require tight temperature control. TraceFREE® has proven to be reliable and cost effective heating ingredients like chocolate, shortening, liquid sugar, honey, molasses, HFCS, oils and more.
Typically used with stainless steel pipes to meet sanitary requirements, the Banner-Day Systems:
- Heat ingredients from ambient to desired temperature
- Gradually heat ingredient as it flows through pipe
- Maintain ingredient at constant temperature
TraceFREE® provides a high degree of reliability as there is not a high resistive heating element underneath the pipe insulation. Temperatures with a TraceFREE® Pipe Heating System can be maintained from ambient to 1400ºF and higher using an electric low voltage energy source. Tight temperature tolerances are kept by means of digital temperature control. TraceFREE® Systems are built to NEC and IEEE standards.
