Award-Winning Pastry Chef, Sherry Yard, To Teach Cutting-Edge Pastry Class For The Bread Bakers Guild

Sonoma, CA – Sherry Yard, three-time James Beard Award winner and pastry chef to the stars, will share her updated interpretations of classic viennoiserie in a Bread Bakers Guild class on September 12 and 13 at Southern California Gas Company in Downey, CA.

In this hands-on class, she will teach students to make fantastic desserts like Black Forest Pot Pie, Yuzu Tart with Palm Sugar Meringue, 12-Layer Dobos Torte, Black Jonathan Apple Crumble, and Thai Ovaltine Bavarian Cream Bars. Aimed at professional bakers and intermediate-to-advanced level home bakers, “Traditional Pastries, Revisited” will spark creativity and inspire students to expand their baking repertoires.

“Traditional Pastries, Revisited” is part of The Guild’s 2015 class series, Revival: What’s Old Is New, which includes hands-on artisan bread and pastry classes blending traditional and contemporary ideas, as well as classes that share valuable practical information for professional bakers. These classes are part of The Guild’s mission to “shape the skills and knowledge of the artisan baking community.” Please visit www.bbga.org to see the complete 2015 events calendar.
