ARCADIA, Wis. — Owner Tom Myers says his old-fashioned Myers Bakery in downtown Arcadia has survived for decades by adapting to change and by having dedicated employees who make quality products.
And he plans to expand the bakery’s wholesale distribution area next year, to help ensure that sales continue to increase.
The bakery has been making bread, rolls, doughnuts, cookies and pastries since the 1920s. It has been known as Myers Bakery ever since Tom’s father, Jerry Myers, bought the business in 1949 from Jennie Paetow. She had been operating it by herself after the death of her husband, Ernest. The Paetows operated the bakery for about 25 years.
