WASHINGTON, D.C. – Over the past few months, the American Bakers Association and industry leaders have been strategizing on ways to better align ABA objectives and resources with positive business outcomes. A common theme has emerged: the industry needs to focus on innovation and collaboration to drive growth.
With a keen eye on the industry’s future, this year’s convention theme, “Innovate, Cultivate, and Invigorate: Planting the Seeds for Growth,” is intended to unite the industry and focus on one of the most important things to bakers: growing the category and identifying strategies that help bakers compete in an environment that is changing at increasing velocity.
The vision for the 2018 ABA Convention is to bring the industry together to:
- Innovate: Discover emerging ideas and trends that will innovate the industry.
- Cultivate: Lay the groundwork for a brighter future and develop strategies to cultivate a category that enriches lives.
- Invigorate: Revitalize how you think about baking and invigorate the growth of an entire industry.
This year’s speaker lineup will shed light on how rapidly changing demographics are shifting values with which consumers approach food and share insight on how bakers can better connect with these new consumer values. Attendees will walk away from the Convention equipped with insights from noted global innovation experts on why the industry is at the center of change and how to project growth. Additionally, attendees will get a fresh look at some very traditional bakery products that also could recapture the imagination and interest of consumers.
As the largest and most influential gathering of the baking industry’s leaders, the 2018 ABA Annual Convention, April 14-18, Phoenician, Scottsdale, Ariz., will empower participants to chart the course for the industry and plant the seeds for growth. In addition to key takeaways applicable to their respective companies, convention attendees will have an opportunity to network with industry leaders, leverage expertise to navigate the evolving marketplace and tap into new strategies for growth.
