The American Bakers Association (ABA), in cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), is convening a Food Defense Awareness Workshop. This workshop will be conducted on October 5, 2013, in Las Vegas, Nevada, preceding the 2013 International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE). The goal of the full-day workshop is to provide members of the food industry with an understanding of food defense, the tools and resources available, and to walk participants through a series of exercises on how to create a food defense plan for their facilities. Much of the remaining day will be spent introducing the FDA’s Food Defense Plan Builder (FDPB) Tool. Participants will be guided through a series of exercises using the tool. There will be open discussions and Q&A sessions throughout the day.
FDA’s Food Defense Plan Builder is a user-friendly tool designed to help owners and operators of food facilities develop a personalized food defense plan. The Food Defense Plan Builder is a desktop tool that, once downloaded from the FDA website, resides only on the user's computer. FDA does not track or monitor its use and does not have access to any content or documents saved using this tool.
Meeting Location: Las Vegas Convention Center, Room N257
Time: Registration 7:30 a.m. | Workshop 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
