AMPI Earns 3 Gold Medals in U.S. Cheese Championship

The co-op’s Sharp Cheddar entry was made by cheesemakers in Blair, Wis. The newest award brings the AMPI Cheddar tally to 18 top-three finishes in national and international competitions within the past three years. This year’s entry topped 53 submissions in the consistently competitive class.

Arethusa Europa Named U.S. Champion Cheese, Earning Historic Second Consecutive Victory 

Arethusa Europa earned a second consecutive win at the U.S. Championship Cheese Contest, a first in the competition’s history. The aged gouda, made by Arethusa Farm Dairy in Bantam, Connecticut, bested 2,414 entries, winning with a score of 98.89 out of 100, just one hundredth of a point ahead of its closest competition.
