Procacci Brothers Sales Corp donated over a half of million pounds of produce from October 2011 to September 2012 to Philabundance, the Delaware Valley’s largest hunger relief organization.  The donation is the largest amount of produce Procacci has donated in a year to date, up from 18,917 pounds in 2010-11.

Dole Fresh Vegetables Recalls Of Limited Number Of Salads

Dole Fresh Vegetables is voluntarily recalling a limited number of cases of Dole American Blend salad in 12 oz. bags, coded A275208A or B, with Use-by date of October 17 and UPC 7143000933, due to a possible health risk from Listeria monocytogenes. Dole Fresh Vegetables is coordinating closely with regulatory officials. No illnesses have been reported in association with the recall.

Seafood Testing Program To End Next Year

The Department of Agriculture will ask lawmakers to approve the use of the final $1.5 million from BP to continue a seafood testing program through October of next year.
