Salinas, CA — September 21, 2010 — Red Blossom Sales will be offering Florida strawberries as part of their winter and early spring product sales.
The McDonald Family of Plant City, Florida will be growing and selling 200 acres of Florida strawberries exclusively for Red Blossom. The McDonalds have been growing Florida strawberries for 30 years and look forward to adding this experience to the expanding Red Blossom team. Mark McDonald, son Shane, and nephew Andy McDonald will all be joining Red Blossom.
According to Mark McDonald, he is excited to bring all his business operations under one umbrella company and label: “Red Blossom’s conscientious growing practices, and focus on quality, are consistent with our philosophy and goals.”
Red Blossom Sales will add 200 acres of Festival and Radiance variety strawberries from Plant City and Dover, Florida to its current acreage of 2,500 strawberries in California and Mexico. The Florida season will extend from late November to mid-April.
