“Making hot sauce and salsa has traditionally been a time-consuming process for most foodservice operators," explains Douglas Bernard, Owner/President of Tropical Commodities, Inc. TCI's Fresh Mashed Pepper product line provides foodservice operators with an easy fresh pepper preparation solution that can also eliminate waste.
“Our customers have complimented us on how fresh the Fresh Mashed Pepper tastes and how the flavor is consistently maintained," explains Douglas Bernard. This is accomplished by having long-term business relationships with the best pepper growers in Central America and The Caribbean. All TCI’s peppers are then flown to Miami and then carefully processed. The company is USDA inspected and has traceability to the grower.
Until recently, TCI primarily supplied Fresh Mash Peppers in 55 gallon industrial drums and 5 gallon containers to hot sauce manufacturers. After doing a great deal of research and seeking the advice of a number of influential people in the restaurant/foodservice industry TCI decided to package Fresh Mashed Peppers in 2lb. (32oz.) plastic container foodservice operators.
The Fresh Mashed Pepper product line is incredibly versatile and will enhance the flavor of any dish that they are used in. Chefs can utilize these Fresh Mashed Peppers to create their own signature sauces and the product can also be used as an ingredient. "TCI's Fresh Mashed Pepper product line should be especially popular with Mexican Restaurants or with any restaurant that makes their own custom hot sauce or salsa”, explains Mark
Vertrees, TCI’s Marketing Director.
