The aging Oak Farms Dairy facility near downtown is preparing for a $42 million renovation, with the help of a property tax abatement offered by the Houston City Council.
The city’s involvement thwarted a similar package being put together for Oak Farms by Dallas officials to lure the facility to the Metroplex region.
The Houston facility located on a 22-acre site — bounded by Leeland, Polk, Velasco and Sampson — will be upgraded and expanded to improve operational and supply chain efficiencies, company officials say.
