Consumers Paying Record High Prices For Meat

Have you been through the meat aisle lately? From beef to pork, consumers are paying record high prices. CBS 2's Vince Gerasole explains why.

The price of bacon is sizzling. The staple in the kitchen at Eggsperience Café has been climbing over the past 12 months. Raul Rocha says bacon prices have increased by about 40 percent.

"We used to pay $53 for a 20-pound case, and now we're paying $75 to $78 a case," said Peter Sakoufakis of Eggsperience.

Steakhouses like Gibsons are coping with beef prices at their highest levels since 2008.
