Grant Family Farms Community Supported Agriculture, or CSA, is looking to expand its offerings with onsite poultry processing at the Wellington farm with what could be Colorado's first certified organic poultry processing plant.
Tuesday afternoon Larimer County Board of Commissioners – Lew Gaiter and Tom Donnelly – unanimously approved an appeal to the land use code for the farm at 1020 West County Road 72, permitting the processing of fowl.
The current land use code excludes any sort of processing of fish, meat or game due to the perceived scale of such an operation and the waste produced from such productions.
