National Mango Board To Host Virtual Industry Outreach Meeting

Orlando, Fla. (August 31, 2010) – The National Mango Board (NMB) will host a virtual outreach meeting on September 8th at 4 p.m. EDT to share detailed information and results for marketing programs designed to increase mango consumption in the United States. Participation in this web-based virtual meeting is free, and registration for the event is quick and easy.

Attendees will learn about mango marketing programs in the retail and foodservice sectors, including results from specific marketing initiatives. Also covered will be innovative consumer marketing programs designed to keep mangos top-of-mind and educate consumers to overcome purchase barriers.

There will be a total of four virtual meetings in 2010, one per quarter, according to NMB executive director, William Watson. “Our hope is that industry members will participate in at least one virtual meeting this year, but if they attend all four, they will hear something completely new each time. We’re working to keep these web-based events informative, fast-paced and interactive,” said Watson. The final virtual outreach meeting for 2010 is scheduled for December 1st.

Recordings of the visuals and audio for the first two virtual outreach meetings this year are available on the board’s website, www.mango.org. The first meeting provided an overview of NMB programs, including research, marketing and industry relations. The second meeting was a deep dive into NMB research programs.

Mango industry members can register for the free event at this link or they can contact NMB industry relations specialist, Marilda Peele at mpeele@mango.org or via phone at 407-629-7318 x 106. Information about the virtual outreach meeting is also available on the board’s website, www.mango.org under the industry tab on the calendar page.
