Dairy Farm Will Join Others In State To Promote The Virtues Of Raw Milk

HARDWICK — Did anyone say “Cheese”?

Eleven dairies across Massachusetts will open their milk house doors Sept. 11 and 12 for free tours and other activities planned for Raw Milk Dairy Days.

The Robinson Farm, 42 Jackson Road, is a certified organic farm and the only participating farm in Central Massachusetts.

Pamela and Raymond Robinson sell raw milk from a farm stand.

Mrs. Robinson said Raw Milk Days will be a benchmark for the farm as they launch the sale of four raw milk cheeses.

On Sept.11, beginning at 2 p.m., they will offer tours of the calves, chickens and cows. There will be a hayride at 3 p.m., and the farm stand store will be open. The highlight of the afternoon at 4 p.m. will be the fetching of the cows for milking, a milking demonstration and a tour of the cheese-making facility.
