Joseph C. Sferrazza has joined MamaMia Produce, East Rutherford, NJ, as sales manager. He previously worked as regional sales manager at Supreme Cuts, LLC. He has nearly 20 years of experience in produce sales, and he has worked with several major produce growers, processors and distributors.
Since joining MamaMia in mid-July, he has traveled extensively throughout the United States and into Canada, visiting chain stores and major distributors. During these visits, he has received great reception for MamaMia and its product line.
"I am extremely excited to be working with a company that is the premier grower and distributor of the finest conventional and organic products out of the Dominican Republic and Mexico," he says. "We have more than 1,500 acres of farmland that we own, with more than 600 of those acres being greenhouses."
MamaMia continues to supply terminial markets, major chains and distributors, while "stepping up to the next level of going nationwide," according to Sferrazza. "The owners, Mike, Shimon and Yfrach have more than 110 years of agricultural/produce experience between the three of them, and they are some of the hardest workers I have ever seen.
"We are growers with old fashioned values based on tremendous passion and pride, and we show it," he adds. "Our name is on every package. Throughout the year, MamaMia is a great place to be."
