DALLAS – Tom Thumb Food & Pharmacy announced today that it is recalling 39 packages of 85% Lean Ground Beef 15% Fat that were sold after 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2010 from its store at 1380 West Campbell Road in Richardson, Texas. The product may be contaminated with pieces from black Styrofoam.
The recall includes the following products:
•85% Lean Ground Beef 15% Fat Ground Beef in the Extreme Value Pack (11 packages)
•85% Lean Ground Beef 15% Fat (28 packages)
The product is packaged on black Styrofoam trays, one of which may have been ground with the beef during the grinding process, necessitating a recall.
Anyone who may have purchased the above-listed products should discard or return them to the Campbell Road store for a full refund. No other products are subject to the recall. No injuries or illnesses have been reported. Tom Thumb is issuing this recall out of an abundance of caution.
