By fall 2010, more than 230 Hy-Vee Inc. grocery stores in the Midwest will feature Caribou Coffee Co Inc. products as part of an expanded partnership between the two companies.
Although Minneapolis-based Caribou already has kiosks in 18 Hy-Vee locations, it will now be the preferred coffee brand for Hy-Vee, and will not only go on their shelves, but will be available for purchase at staffed kiosks and deli counters.
“We researched dozens of coffee brands. Caribou Coffee’s product, personality and commitment to Rainforest Alliance certification, the most comprehensive sustainability certification available, ultimately made this an easy choice,” Greg Frampton, Hy-Vee’s assistant vice president of food service said in a statement.
The first store to make the transition will be a new Hy-Vee store in Peoria, Ill., that opened July 13.
