At this year’s OFA Short Course, Ball FloraPlant’s Black Velvet Petunia was announced as the winner of Greenhouse Grower’s Industry’s Choice Award during its Medal of Excellence reception, July 12. Soon after that announcement, Black Velvet was also chosen as the magazine’s Reader’s Choice winner.
For more than 20 years, Greenhouse Grower has recognized outstanding contributions in advancing flower varieties through its Medal of Excellence awards program. The Industry’s Choice finalists are determined by the magazine’s expert panel; Editor’s Choice by Editor Delilah Onofrey; and Reader’s Choice is determined by Greenhouse Grower readers and OFA Short Course attendees.
