Marriner Marketing Communications was recently awarded the Silver Addy Award in the District 2 competition for the campaign it created on behalf of McCormick For Chefs, the Food Away From Home division of McCormick & Company. The award honored the top Four-Color Trade Publication Campaign in business-to-business and consumer-focused spreads. District 2 comprises creative work from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Washington D.C.-area agencies.
To advance to the District level, Marriner's McCormick For Chefs campaign won within the American Advertising Federation (AAF) Maryland area: three Gold ADDYs for Video Sales Presentation, Four-Color Trade Publication Spread, and Mixed Media (National B-to-B); and one Silver ADDY for Four-Color Trade Publication Campaign. The AAF, comprised of 200 member advertising clubs and 15 districts, recognizes only the most talented and original work. Roughly 60,000 entries are judged in the process of selecting national winners.
The McCormick For Chefs integrated communications campaign features real chefs in their own kitchens. A compelling list of duties and personal attributes define the many roles they play in the course of running a restaurant and each job is represented by a percentage. The list concludes with "Chef…100%." Developed to show a genuine appreciation for how hard chefs work, the campaign has included ads in the nation's prominent foodservice industry magazines, sales videos, trade show booth, public relations, sales collateral, packaging redesign, training materials, event sponsorships and speaking engagements.
"These ADDY awards are the result of the collaboration we enjoy with our friends at McCormick. Together, we push the messaging for their brand, and the creative work itself, into exciting new areas. The insights we gain and the inventive ways we find to strongly communicate the essence of the McCormick For Chefs brand, are what makes this work strong," said Bill Mitchell, Creative Director, Marriner Marketing Communications.
