Alabama Consumers Stock Up On Fresh Seafood

HUNTSVILLE, AL – In anticipation of a seafood scarcity caused by the oil spill, shoppers locally are stocking up on fresh seafood. So is one Huntsville grocery store.

Lots of shrimp are in Star Market's seafood freezer, waiting to be bought and consumed, but Seafood Manager Randy Norman says sometime soon, that might not be the case.

"Well, I'm not gonna to say we ain't gonna run out, but try not to run out," Norman said.

Star Market's shrimp provider called this morning, asking Norman if he wanted to double his shrimp order this week.

He told Norman soon, they won't be able to provide Gulf shrimp at all … because of the oil spill.
