Watsonville, CA- June 16, 2010 – California Giant Berry Farms is heading to New York to join other partners in bringing the complete Wimbledon experience to Rockefeller Center. Throughout all of next week, partners in the promotion will give fans a taste of all the tournament has to offer including the famous tradition of enjoying fresh strawberries and cream.
A similar program launched last year and was so successful, the partners are back for another round. The New York events will kick-off Monday, June 21, with former world No. 1 ranked players Jim Courier and Jennifer Capriati enjoying fresh California Giant strawberries on the grass tennis court specially developed for the event. Several complimentary activities planned for the week include live daily Wimbledon broadcasts on the jumbo screen with viewing bleachers, public grass court play, carts serving the traditional English style strawberries and cream compliments of California Giant Berry Farms
California Giant Berry Farms is providing 75,000 strawberries for the public to enjoy at strawberries and cream carts in the outdoor viewing area. California Giant will also provide healthy eating advice to children from the City Parks Foundation at tennis clinics, some with tennis legend Courier helping young players.
