Homestead Creamery Releases New A2A2 Milk

Earlier this year, Homestead Creamery Inc. announced its new line of 2 percent, reduced fat milk that is from cows that have been tested for producing the A2A2 beta-casein protein combination.

According to a news release from Homestead Creamery, research has shown that this combination of proteins may be easier on the human digestive tract. Studies have indicated that the A1 beta-casein protein that is found in most cows’ milk may be difficult for humans to digest and could cause digestive discomfort.

In response to these studies, Homestead Creamery announced it made the decision to transition to herds of cows that naturally produce only the A2A2 protein.
