Even though he's no longer selling groceries, Robert S. Ukrop is still in the food business.
Four months after handing over the keys to the family's 25 grocery stores, Ukrop has created a new venture that continues to make prepared foods and baked goods, including the famed White House Rolls, rainbow cookies, the triple cheese macaroni and cheese and the chicken salad.
"We have a passion for food," said Ukrop, president and CEO of Ukrop's Homestyle Foods Inc., the new business he created that continues the family's food legacy.
His company's main customer now is Martin's Food Markets, which bought the Ukrop's Super Market stores in February and rebranded them. Neither company would release details of the agreement, but Ukrop said the deal to provide
