A florist in the Midwest hired a 25 year old designer and saw his prom business grow dramatically. It wasn't a plan, but he was smart enough to recognize what was going on.

This Generation Y designer was able to connect with teen girls, who came into the flower shop to place orders for boutonnières, and are also members of Generation Y. The designer told the teens if they had their prom date come in and ask for her she would match their flowers with the boutonnière. The young teens soon got on facebook and twitter to share their experience. The designer also created a prom flowers facebook page for the florist to further enhance what was happening naturally among her new Generation Y customers.
