The meal kits let customers select from a variety of frozen entrees and side dishes to package and take home to cook.
At the Kroger in Short Pump, for instance, such dishes as parmarella mac and cheese, prime rib strips with mushrooms and gravy, and chicken and sausage gumbo are among the selections.
Customers use scoops provided to retrieve the items and package them in disposable containers provided. The meals are sold by weight at $7.99 per pound.
