WASHINGTON, D.C. – The American Bakers Association (ABA) is pleased to announce that former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer will address ABA members at the NextGenBaker Leadership Forum with the ABA and Allied Trades of the Baking Industry (ATBI) Joint Boards of Directors at George Washington’s Mount Vernon, Oct. 2, 2018.
Spicer will share his expertise and insight from his stint as spokesperson for the White House, following a dynamic presidential campaign. In this reflective and candid conversation, Spicer will share his insider knowledge about the presidency, the strategy that guides the Trump Administration and his experience as the face of a new era of politics. He also will discuss how the role of communications has significantly changed the advocacy landscape as well as strategies to be effective in the new environment.
“ABA is pleased to offer attendees exclusive access to this high-profile communicator who served at the epicenter of modern politics and communications during a tumultuous time,” said ABA President & CEO Robb MacKie. “Hearing from Sean as he pulls back the curtain on Washington and shares his candid perspective on leadership and advocacy in our country will be a unique opportunity for attendees.”
Before Spicer made his mark as one of the most recognized staffers in the Trump Administration, he built a decades-long career in Republican politics, witnessing and shaping the inner workings of Washington, D.C., from every vantage point – as a House of Representatives communicator, Assistant U.S. Trade Representative, Republican National Committee chief strategist and a top advisor to presidential campaigns. It was his role as the architect of the Republican National Committee’s public relations strategy that earned him a reputation as one of the party’s most effective and hardest-charging strategists and communicators. He helped the party successfully rebuild, following losses in the 2012 election, and he then played a key role in the strategy behind the party’s sweeping 2014 victories, the must-see 2016 primary debates and the party’s improbable wins across the country that November.
