SpoonLidz Adds EcoTaster Mini Ultra-Sustainable Tasting Spoon

Larkspur, CA — SpoonLidz LLC has announced the launch of its newest offering, a slick, sturdy little paperboard tasting spoon called EcoTaster Mini.
The new EcoTaster Mini is a smaller, sampling-sized version of the full-sized EcoTensil, which is being used for retail food products such as Stonyfield Farms yogurt, and for meals in institutions across the country. EcoTaster Mini is also made from a slick, moisture-resistant paperboard, similar to a milk carton, but more eco-friendly. In one fold, it becomes the perfect rigid scoop for any semi-solid or bite-sized foods. And it costs less than other biodegradable spoons on the market.

EcoTaster Mini is the ultra eco-friendly alternative to tasting spoons at any event where tasting spoons are used. They are highly space efficient and lightweight, and they help companies demonstrate their commitment to sustainability to their public. The optional sanitary dispenser is the size of an average hardcover book, yet holds over 500 spoons. One thousand can fit in a coat pocket, and 5,000 are a little wider than an 8-pack of soda cans. Although they use less material than other tasting spoons, the actual “scoop” portion of the spoon is bigger than other tasting spoons, for a more satisfying mouthful.

EcoTaster Mini sustainability facts:

  • 100% recyclable and repulpable. Utensils made from vegetable starch such as potato and corn are NOT recyclable.
  • 100% biodegradable and compostable, and they break down significantly faster than other bio-based spoons tested.
  • contains NO poly/petroleum.
  • made from renewable trees, and soy inks.
  • made in the USA.
  • take up less than half space of other tasting spoons in shipping; 5,000 of these fit in the same size box as 1,000 plastic or bio-based tasting spoons.
  • use much less material than any other tasting spoon, which is the best way to save resources.
