H-E-B plans to build a massive distribution and manufacturing plant on an 871-acre plot on San Antonio’s East Side, initially creating 300 new jobs in the area.
City Council members will vote May 17 whether to waive up to $1 million of city development fees and up to $500,000 in SAWS water and sewer impact fees for the site at the southwest corner of E. Houston St. and S. Foster Road, according to a memo attached to an agenda item.
H-E-B plans to invest at least $130 million at the site over a three-year period, the memo says. The San Antonio retailer says the 1 million-square-foot facility will be its largest single-build warehouse and will constitute its largest investment to date in its manufacturing and supply-chain division.
