Juergen PAULY, Category Manager Fresh Fish/Delicatessen for the German Retail Chain Globus SB:
“GLOBUS is a family-owned, 190-year-old retail company with 46 outlets in Germany as well as stores in the Czech Republic and Russia. The company is based close to FRESH. Our fish counters in every store have been GLOBALG.A.P. certified since 2017. Our customers prefer the products from seawater aquaculture in Germany more and more because of the superior freshness, taste, texture, and short distance from farm to counter. We are happy to guarantee this now together with our partner FRESH to our customers. Chain of custody is completed by our logistic partner Havekost, who is also GLOBALG.A.P. certified. With the GGN at the counters, we are now able to show all important aspects of environmental and fish-friendly farming to our customers in a very transparent manner.
"We are delighted to be the world’s only closed recirculation sea fish farm certified by GLOBALG.A.P. providing a portfolio of premium marine fish raised independently of the sea. In fact, FRESH is now the only GLOBALG.A.P. certified supplier of Hiramasa Kingfish (Seriola lalandi) worldwide. This impressively confirms that fresh and low-impact seafood is no longer a distant vision, but an everyday good and safe choice for responsible consumers of fresh fish around the world”, says Peter Zeller, CEO of Swiss-based FRESH Corporation.
