PERKINSTOWN – Cal Kalmon and his family were worried.
Just over a decade ago, milk prices had bottomed out. For a small-scale organic dairy farmer, times were difficult for Kalmon. He, his wife Kris and their five children at the time still lived at home with Cal's father.
But a visit from a family friend from California changed things for his family. Kris made homemade bread on a somewhat regular basis for the family and their friend suggested she do it all the time.
