Big Y Foods Inc. said Wednesday that it has completed $5.4 million in renovations at its stores in Milford and in Easton.
Big Y said a new feature in both stores is self-checkouts.
The Springfield-based supermarket chain removed self-service checkouts from its stores in 2011 to great fanfare. At the time, Big Y said the self-service lanes got clogged because customers needed help from clerks anyway to complete their transactions.
