Wessels has accepted the role of Senior Director of Supply Chain Management. In his new role, Wessels will be directly responsible for the oversight and direction of the global sourcing, logistics, and category management of all Market Fresh’s current and future commodities. Wessels will also provide input in the aggressive acquisition growth strategy that Market Fresh’s CEO, Steve Phipps, is currently directing the company towards. “We have very lofty goals for 2018”, stated Phipps. “William is just another addition of talent we have brought to the company to reach these goals. Our logistics model has already proven to retailers across the U.S. that working with Market Fresh not only delivers quality produce to their customers, but our model drives freight costs down; and in today’s environment that is very important. I’m confident William will only make it stronger.”
Wessels received a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Dakota. He has been in the produce industry for over six years spending his last two years as the Senior Demand Manager of Produce for Walmart Stores Inc. Wessels is excited to begin this new journey with our company. He stated, “I am extremely excited about the opportunity to serve as a member of senior leadership at Market Fresh Produce.
