Spring is the perfect time to incorporate fresh flowers into your home decor says former White House Chief Floral Designer, Laura Dowling.
As Chief Floral Designer at the White House from 2009-2015, Laura managed décor and flowers for literally thousands of White House events. Laura gave us some top tips on how to bring spring flowers – in the White House style – home.
Laura says use the delicate, fluffy and fanciful flowers of the season: garden roses, hydrangea, daffodils, delphinium, forsythia, hellebores, clematis, etc. Also use spring pastel shades of pink and green, blue and yellow, and white and green. These are the flowers that convey the fresh spirit of spring.
