For Yogurt Fans, Greek Is The Word


Things we can thank Greece for: college fraternities, sending the Euro on a roller-coaster ride, and the latest yogurt trend.

In the past few years, the Mediterranean diet staple Greek yogurt has gone from a niche health food to a ubiquitous grocery aisle item.

This year, two major American yogurt companies launched their own lines of Greek-style yogurt.

"If our customers are going to choose yogurt, they choose Greek," said Errol Schweizer, senior global grocery coordinator for Whole Foods. "It's high quality, indulgent and also healthy."
