Driving Dairy Discussions Trainings Set For Farmers, Industry Advocates

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Dairy farmers and industry advocates are invited to attend a Driving Dairy Discussions workshop at no cost to help develop confidence in sharing dairy messaging with consumers. DairyFAN members will also receive an update during the program.

Two dates are available – March 20, at the Holiday Inn Syracuse, Liverpool, New York, and March 21, at the Sheraton Harrisburg-Hershey, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, both from 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

“Consumer research shows that nearly 50 percent of adults would ask a dairy farmer about their farming practices, if given the opportunity,” said ADA North East CEO Rick Naczi. “Driving Dairy Discussions gives our farmers the tools to prepare for conversations about general and hot-button issues to help build consumer confidence in dairy.”

DairyFAN (Dairy Food Advocacy Network) and Driving Dairy Discussions are ADA North East programs that provide farmers the tools to answer consumer questions using a variety of communications techniques and practice scenarios. DairyFAN focuses on social media outreach, and Driving Dairy Discussions prepares farmers for face-to-face conversations.

“With consumer driven demands impacting the way we farm, it’s more important than ever for dairymen to be a part of the food conversation,” said DairyFAN member Hannah Worden of Will-O-Crest Farm, Clifton Spring, N.Y. “Participating in DairyFAN has helped our farm Facebook page by improving the content we post as well as offering tips and tricks for scheduling and getting our posts noticed by more people.”
